In the Ruins of Sescheron there is a quest named Last of the Barbarians where you are tasked with freeing four barbarians. Although well preserved, he is dead, and there is no interaction with his body unless during March. In the very end of the hall, the Throne itself stands, with the mighty warrior encased in full Immortal King's Call armor sitting on it, Skorn (or, to be more precise, Kanai's Scorn) at his side (the warrior is revealed to be Kanai himself). Upon entering, the players witness a long hall with dozens of Barbarian spirits standing silently on the path to the Throne. It serves absolutely no gameplay role, as it contains few, if any, monsters, and only a few breakable objects. The Immortal Throne can be found in the Ruins of Sescheron ( Elder Sanctum) in Act III ( Adventure Mode only) of Diablo III, as an optional area to the north of the Kanai's Cube vault. However, it never came to pass, as Sescheron was sacked, and Kanai killed in the siege, though upon death, his body had been put on the Throne. Throughout its history, only two Barbarians have ever been given the honor of sitting on the throne, including Bul-Kathos himself.Ĭhief Elder Kanai was under consideration for the honor as well. The ancient king’s actual tomb will be in another part of the map, so explore the whole Elder Sanctum until you find a different pillared tomb with the Immortal Throne and a floating, glowing gold cube waiting for you.The Immortal Throne was a cultural icon in Barbarian society, prior to the scattering of their people by Baal. However, don’t get confused: if you find a throne room with a line-up of spectral barbarians and the corpse of the dead king, that’s not where the cube is. From there, find and enter the Elder Sanctum, which holds the lost tomb of the ancient king. After you get the mission from him, explore the randomized map of The Ruins of Sescheron. If you don’t have the mission from him, Kanai’s Cube will be guarded by an immovable shield. Though you can go there at any point in Adventure Mode, make sure to talk to the ghost of Zoltun Kulle first. It’s now overrun with demons after Baal destroyed their home to corrupt the Worldstone in Diablo II. There, you can visit Sescheron and the Barbarians. However, it’s only there in Adventure Mode, not the main campaign. You can reach Mount Arreat during Act III of the game.
